ATHOS: availability analysis and optimisation in SLAs
نویسندگان
چکیده
Information technology (IT) service availability is at the core of customer satisfaction and business success for today’s organisations. Many medium‐ to large‐size organisations outsource part of their IT services to external providers, with service‐level agreements describing the agreed availability of outsourced service components. Availability management of partially outsourced IT services is a non‐trivial task since classic approaches for calculating availability are not applicable, and IT managers can only rely on their expertise to fulfil it. This often leads to the adoption of non‐optimal solutions. In this paper we present ATHOS, a framework to calculate the availability of partially outsourced IT services in the presence of SLAs and to achieve a cost‐optimal choice of availability levels for outsourced IT components while guaranteeing a target availability level for the service. متن کاملFurther Investigations of Awmp Strike Limit Algorithms and Their Optimisation
We review and enhance several potential Aboriginal Whaling Management Procedure (AWMP) Strike Limit Algorithms (SLAs), and examine their performance on the extreme B3 and B7 shery type 2 Initial Exploration Trials. We focus on optimisa-tion methods described by Givens (1997b) for improving the performance of existing SLAs and creating enhanced, merged SLAs from existing candidates. The statisti...
متن کاملEmergency department resource optimisation for improved performance: a review
Emergency departments (EDs) have been becoming increasingly congested due to the combined impacts of growing demand, access block and increased clinical capability of the EDs. This congestion has known to have adverse impacts on the performance of the healthcare services. Attempts to overcome with this challenge have focussed largely on the demand management and the application of system wide p...
متن کاملOptimisation of shock absorber process parameters using failure mode and effect analysis and genetic algorithm
The various process parameters affecting the quality characteristics of the shock absorber during the process were identified using the Ishikawa diagram and by failure mode and effect analysis. The identified process parameters are welding process parameters (squeeze, heat control, wheel speed, and air pressure), damper sealing process parameters (load, hydraulic pressure, air pressure, and ...

High performance computing (HPC) providers mostly offer their services on a best effort basis. The operational model for HPC resources is at its heart still the same as in its infancy when users placed sets of punch card at a desk for a job to be run. Nowadays, users can verify programs beforehand on their local computers before submitting online. They do not need to interact with human operato...
